Jewelry for the Confident Woman

Matlide Poulat

August 2nd, 2007 by Carol K

Whenever I think of handmade jewelry, I see an image of Matilde Poulat, one of the first women designers of jewelry in Mexico, forging silver. Her work in color, methods, and motifs adds up to an original and personal style. I can just imagine the conviction she had, the commitment to her art, and her eye for beauty. Often in my own jewelry designs, I incorporate a vintage Mexican piece, whether it be a sterling question mark or show a modern necklace accentuated by a handcrafted, sterling chain or charm.I have been lucky to meet the craftsmen and women I have in Mexico, to be able to learn from them, and to be rewarded by working with them.

Hello World!

August 1st, 2007 by Carol K

Hello, I am Carol K and from time to time will be posting small articles about jewelry, jewelry designers and other people doing wonderful things in the world of beauty and design.

As you may have read, I have been working, designing and selling jewelry for quite awhile and what I love most about my art is working with many different products and turning them into jewelry pieces that men and women can wear. Most of my pieces are made to feel and look great around the neck and of course they are all one a kind so you can wear the pieces without seeing yourself coming and going.
