Turquoise

As we all know turquoise is a stone that has taken on many descriptions, forms, and just about anything you can add about it, Arizona turquoise, Chinese turquoise, on and on. In my listing I do not name the type of turquoise unless I absolutely know the mine where it was mined. I have heard stories of some mines putting turquoise in it and saying it came from that mine.

So here’s the deal, natural turquoise, looks pretty much like a rock, rough, not a perfect cut and can come in many different strand colors within a mine. It has not been enhanced.

Turquoise that is used in most jewelry has had a treatment or has been stabilized. It is real turquoise but has been enhanced for jewelry making.

Other pieces that look like turquoise and are not is block and it is mostly and if not all resin. Still made and used in many items coming from all over the globe. Obviously less expensive and while it sort of looks like turquoise it is a resin plastic.
