Pheasant Rumo Nakota, Nelda Schrupp, is highly recognized for her modern approach to tribal items that can be aumuletic .This pin or pendant resonants with the boxes and shapes of how Indians were forced to live. The gem stone, an emerald cut citrine is 12mmx12mm and set in a sterling and gold. It can be worn as a pin or pendant. The dimensions of the piece are appx 2 5/8" by appx 2 1/16" or appx 67mm x 52mm. Inside of the pin are little beads for rattling and here's what Nelda says about that “A great deal of my work revolves around the rattle, a sacred object used in spiritual ceremonies. Medicine men use the rattle during prayer, believing that the sound helps carry their prayers to the Great Spirit. I call my art pieces amuletic forms with audio aesthetics, referring to the sacredness of the rattle and the sound (voice) that emanates from the pieces.” – Schrupp . Hallmarked and copyrighted. Gold content hard to read but it is probably 14kt. Pre owned.
