Very traditional bolo from the Zuni's, Effie Calavaza's turquoise stones with winding snakes and gorgeous turquoise eyes in the snakes. The Zuni's saw the snakes as possible change due to the shedding of their skin and also representative of lighting and rain. Many other tribes work with snakes and they all have their meanings for them. The bolo center is appx 2 7/8" in length or appx 86mm. And the width at the widest point is appx 2" or appx 51mm. The tips with snakes are appx 1 1/2" in length or appx 38mm and the width is appx 1/4" or appx 6mm. The entire bolo length with the deerskin braided rope is appx 41" or appx 1041mm. Included in that measurement is the full sterling tip with the snakes of 3 1/2"or 89mm. Heavy weighing in at appx 91grams. Pre owned in good condition.
